Mission Statement
The Vine Pregnancy Center's mission is to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all our clients. We will seek to educate women through our Christian ministry, by offering information, counseling, and practical assistance to women in unexpected pregnancies.
Statement of Faith
The inspiration, inerrancy and authority of the Bible alone as the written Word of God. Through Scripture, God binds the conscience and the authority of the church is subordinate to His Word. One God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The sinfulness of all men and women from conception and their resulting inability to seek out or please God by their own efforts. The death of the unique Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, as an atoning sacrifice for us. We believe that there is no salvation for anyone apart from grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave.
The person and work of the Holy Spirit in drawing people to Christ, enabling them to believe on him, and strengthening them to live godly lives. The necessity for Christians to follow Jesus Christ in personal and often costly discipleship. The importance of the church as a fellowship of born again people, committed to helping one another grow in their Christian lives. The privilege of entering, the presence of God and His Throne of Grace, through Christ, in prayer, offering to Him our most humble confession, praise, petitions and intercession. The importance of Christians reaching into all the world to call people to faith in Christ and helping influence their world for good and His glory alone. The bodily resurrection of the saved and lost, the eternal existence of all people either in heaven or hell, in divine judgments, rewards and punishments.
Abortion is the destruction of the image of God in the mother's womb. It is among the greatest evils of society and is a reflection of a deep sickness of the soul in which only Christ may penetrate and restore to wholeness.
Doctrinal Statement
1) The unborn child is consistently referred to as a human being created by God and is included in God's plan from the moment of conception.
Supporting Scriptures: Job 31:15 "Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One make us both within our mothers?" Psalm 139:13 " You created my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb." Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." Luke 1:15 "And He will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from His mother's womb.
2) God, being the Creator, retains sole ownership of human life.
Supporting Scriptures: Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder." Luke 18:20 "You know the commandments: "Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal..." James 2:11 "He who said, "Do not commit adultery" also said, "Do not murder."
3) Therefore, since the child is a human being, and since Scripture defines the taking of human life outside the context of justice as being murder, we are convinced that the current laws regarding liberalized abortion are sinful in the most profound sense.
Supporting Scriptures: Proverbs 6:17 "There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: hands that shed innocent blood..." Proverbs 31:8-9 "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
As Christians, God has not given us the option of inactivity. We are all aware of the current practice of abortion. God warns us in Proverbs 24:10-12 that He holds us accountable:
"If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength! Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering towards slaughter. If you say, "but we knew nothing about this," does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards your life know it? We He not repay each person according to what he has done?"
We believe it is inconsistent to hold to a fundamental view of Scripture without accepting the fact that God is able and willing to repay both our obedience and disobedience in full measure. Therefore, we at The Vine Pregnancy Center, we see our ministry as being not only legitimate and appropriate, but as being demanded by Scripture.
Since our origin and day-to-day operations are based on Scripture, it seemed fitting to formulate this statement concerning Scripture and what Scripture says about abortion in order to assure you that our ministry is both legitimate and appropriate.
